VOTO LATINO ANNOUNCED AS ONLINE PLATFORM FOR “THE STATE OF LATINOS : 2008 COLORADO TOWN HALL MEETING” SPONSORED BY GRUPO SALINAS , FUNDACION AZTECA AMERICA AND AZTECA AMERICA COLORADO

LOS ANGELES, May 21, 2008 – Voto Latino, a non-partisan voter engagement organization, will serve as the official online partner of the State of Latinos : 2008 Colorado Town Hall Meeting, providing viewers with a “sneak peak” of hot-button issues through a live, interactive blog that they will host on www.votolatino.org .

The blog session, featuring key bloggers and leaders in the Latino community, will go live on May 22 from 3 pm – 6 pm EST / 12 pm – 3 pm PST . During that time key Voto Latino representatives will field visitors' questions and provide commentary on issues that will be presented during the State of Latinos : 2008 Colorado Town Hall Meeting to be held on May 30 th in Denver . The event will later be broadcast on Azteca America in early June.

Organizers are confident that the combined online and broadcast media approach will capture the attention and effectively engage the Latino community across the range of media they consume, and touch on issues that, themselves, have voiced.

“We're excited to be able to unite our voter engagement activities with the efforts of State of Latinos: 2008 Colorado Town Hall Metting to create a comprehensive Latino agenda to present to our representatives at this important moment of our nation's history,” said Maria Teresa Petersen , founding executive director of Voto Latino, who will also be participating as a panelist du ring the Town Hall meeting.
