Mexico City, April 21, 2008 – Grupo Salinas, a group of dynamic, fast-growing and technologically advanced companies founded by Mexican entrepreneur Ricardo B. Salinas, and its non-profit arm Fundación Azteca once again exceed their fundraising goals through the monthly Movimiento Azteca fundraising and awareness program, which was recently centered on at-risk children in Mexico.
An overwhelming public response from TV Azteca viewers exceeded the goal of US$500,000 by a factor of over two in support of the Dibujando un Mañana foundation. The total amount raised was over US$1 million thanks to support from TV Azteca viewers and corporate sponsors, including SC Johnson and HSBC.
The funds will serve to rehabilitate an estimated 1,185 homeless girls and offer them a better future.
