Los Angeles, January 12, 2010.- Fundación Azteca America, Azteca America Los Angeles and Fundación Hermes Music are pleased to announce the successful delivery of over 15,000 toys to needy kids in the Los Angeles area thanks to the Juguetón, the largest toy drive in Mexico.
More than 20,000 people came to the Plaza Mexico in Lynwood, California for the event on January 8, which was hosted by Juguetón President and Founder Jorge Garralda and Hermes Music Founder and Chairman Alberto Kreimerman.
The festive event included live music from graduates of TV Azteca’s La Academia musical reality show Raul Sandoval and Luz Leguizamo.
The Juguetón is a project supported by Mexican entrepreneur Ricardo Salinas Pliego, founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas, which includes TV Azteca and Azteca America, among other important companies.
Toys for the Los Angeles event were also distributed to non-profit organizations including: the American Cancer Society, From Heart to Heart (De Corazón a Corazón Foundation), Neighborhood Legal Services, Union de Discapacitados Latinoamericanos, Hombre Nuevo, Starlight Foundation, Childrens Deparment of Los Angeles County and other important community groups.
The Juguetón is grateful for the media support from Azteca America Los Angeles, Channel 54; Guadalupe Radio, W Radio, La Raza 97.9, as well as HOY, La Opinion and Impacto USA newspapers. The organizers would also like to thank the hundreds of volunteers and donations from the Mexican Consular Office in Los Angeles.
