Azteca America’s ‘Issues: Caras Y Voces’ Presents Strategies By The Catholic Church To Promote Immigration Reform

 


Washington DC, January 12, 2010.- Azteca America television network is proud to feature the topic of immigration and activities that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is promoting to stimulate immigration reform on this week’s broadcast of “Issues: Caras y Voces,” hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzmán.

Bishop John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake City and chairman of the USCCB Committee on Migration discussed the recent postcard campaign that has the goal of getting more than 1.5 million letters to members of Congress.

“We remain committed to moving immigration reform as soon as possible,” he said. “We hope to make sure that our federal legislators are committed to that goal as well.”

The program also includes the website www.justiceforimmigrants.org, which allows supporters to e-mail their representatives in Congress after identifying them through zip codes.

“Issues: Caras y Voces” features top leaders that impact the Latino community through one-on-one interviews conducted by Armando Guzmán. Covering the White House and the Capitol for almost two decades, Mr. Guzmán is one of the most respected correspondents in Washington. The interview forum airs Tuesday evenings during Noticiero Azteca America, the network news broadcast of Azteca America.
