Los Angeles, CA, November 2, 2007 - Grupo Salinas, Fundación Azteca America and Azteca America have joined efforts to help over one million people affected by flooding in the Mexican state of Tabasco. Fundación Azteca America is working with the Mexican Consular office in Los Angeles to promote donations to support victims. The efforts are added to Fundación Azteca activities in Mexico that include donation drives and collection centers for basic necessities. To keep our audience informed, José Martín Sámano, Azteca America’s Nacional News anchor, will be reporting from Tabasco beginning this Monday, November 5.
Fuerza Informativa Azteca has been reporting since the beginning of the floods and has kept viewers informed about the rising waters that have covered 80% of the state. Sámano, a veteran journalist who has covered other natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Stan in Chiapas and Hurricane Wilma in Quintana Roo, will be reporting live with news updates throughout the day and on Azteca America’s Noticiero Nacional at 11 PM/10 C. Fuerza Informativa Azteca’s team will also coordinate donations sent by Mexicans in the U.S.
